Event Photography
I had the opportunity to photograph Troop 400's volunteer effort for Highland Rescue's emergency response training exercise. This was a cool event that allowed volunteers to train for a live shooter type drill that had many simulated wounded victims which needed treatment. The scouts got to have makeup put on them that simulated gunshot wounds of various severity. I spent a couple of hours in the make up area photographing the scouts getting their makeup on, and a hour outside getting shots of the action.
Great event that allowed the scouts to give back to their community and counted towards their community service hours, as well as for the volunteers to allow time to prepare for an event like this that will hopefully never happen!
Good for me as well to get some experience documenting live events with some awesome action. I shot this entirely in manual mode, and used a flash to capture some details. Not much editing was needed on these, a quick balance and export, maybe a touch or two here and there. Really enjoying capturing adventurous moments like these to document the journey!
