Mother's Day Mini Session
This year for Mother's day, I wanted to offer a mini photo session for families and allow them to donate to two different local organizations. The organizations were Boy Scouts of America Troop 400, and Fight 4 Hope foundation. These organizations are local to Conifer, CO and give back to the community by supporting kids in scouting with Troop 400, and through sponsoring families and children that want to train in martial arts.
I decided to host the session at one of Jefferson County's open space parks, Flying J Ranch Park. I hike there fairly often, taking the family and our dog for walks, and even riding bikes there. It's a great local park that offers a beautiful backdrop for portraits.
There were a few things I needed to do in order to prepare for the mini session.
- You need a permit to take commercial photos, so I made sure my permit was up to date.
- I setup my website to allow for bookings to take place
- I created a flyer to distribute to the local community
- I promoted the session online and through email distributions
- Scouting the location to get up to date on park status
I had a few people sign up for the session, it was a short notice, with only 2 weeks to market the sessions so we didn't get to fill all of the sessions. But, for those that signed up, it was important for them and for me to be there to take their pictures and deliver high quality results! It was a ton of fun to host these sessions and the families loved their experience and resulting photos!
